DDI Q&A

About DDI

What is DDI? +

DDI (Design & Digital Innovation) is a 3-year BBA program at Assumption University Thailand. It combines business education with hands-on entrepreneurship, technology, and design thinking. Students build real companies, receive seed funding, and can earn degrees from international partner universities.

Is the program taught in English? +

Yes, DDI is an international program taught entirely in English. This prepares students for global careers and facilitates the international exchange opportunities in Year 3.

What degree do I receive? +

You receive a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Design and Digital Innovation from Assumption University. In Year 3, you can also earn additional degrees from partner universities including Bournemouth (UK), Northampton (UK), Essex (UK), or SHMS (Switzerland).

How is DDI different from other business programs? +

DDI focuses on learning by doing. Instead of just studying case studies, you build actual startups in Year 2 through our Sandbox program, receive real seed funding (฿50,000+), and pitch to industry mentors. Our students have raised over ฿6.6 million in external funding from Ted Fund, Thai Health, and private investors.

Admissions

How much is tuition? +

Total tuition for the 3-year program is approximately ฿900,000. This covers all coursework, Sandbox participation, seed funding for your startup, and access to industry mentors. International Year 3 options have additional costs depending on the partner university.

Are scholarships available? +

Yes, Assumption University offers various scholarships based on academic merit and financial need. Contact the admissions office or visit ddi.au.edu for current scholarship opportunities.

When can I apply? +

DDI accepts applications year-round with multiple intake periods. The main intake is in August, with a smaller January intake available. Early application is recommended as spaces are limited.

The Sandbox (Year 2)

What is the Sandbox? +

The Sandbox is DDI's startup incubator program in Year 2. Students form teams, develop business ideas, and build real companies over the course of the year. It's not a simulation - these are actual businesses that can continue after graduation.

How much seed funding do teams receive? +

Each team receives ฿50,000 in seed funding to develop their startup. Top-performing teams can access additional funding through competitions and our partner network (Ted Fund, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, etc.).

Can I continue my startup after graduation? +

Absolutely! Many DDI alumni continue building their startups after graduation. Team Zeri raised ฿3.5 million and launched their supplement brand "FEMI". Team Starters founded iReadCustomer with ฿1.5 million in funding. The companies you build are yours to keep.

What kind of support do startups receive? +

Beyond seed funding, teams get mentorship from industry leaders at companies like True Corporation, Kasikorn Bank, Microsoft Thailand, and Saha Group. You also get workspace, pitch training, legal guidance on company registration, and connections to investors.
